18 September 2011
Festival goers at this year’s annual Red Ochre Festival in Dubbo NSW were treated to a feast of Indigenous music, song and dance as the local community came together to celebrate culture and health. This year, the festival’s theme encouraged people to Get Active! by walking to and from the event, and grooving all day to the great live music on offer. Free health checks were also available from the local team at Thubbo Aboriginal Medical Service.
Local health worker Patrick McNeill taught children about the medical equipment used in a health check, showing them how to check each other’s heartbeats with the stethoscope.
The family-friendly event was a fantastic way to learn about ways to Live Longer!
