The remote community of Yuendumu hosted a “Masterchef-style” cooking competition in July to promote the importance of nutrition in preventing chronic disease.
Thirty locals came together to compete in the Bush Wok Healthy Cooking Competition.
The challenge was to make the tastiest “Rainbow Curry” and each team was provided with a flour drum stove, cooking utensils and a range of fresh and healthy ingredients.
The dishes produced for the competition were all worth of a prize, though the enjoyment of getting together and cooking for friends and family was the highlight of the day.
Thanks to all those who came along and took part in encouraging healthy eating to Live Longer!
